Elder Kelvin Franklin |
Elder Franklin is the Founder and Pastor
of Alpha and Omega. He hails from
Pittsboro, Mississippi and retired from
the US Air Force in 2003 in the grade of
SMSgt after 24 years of honorable service.
He is married
to Pastor Charlotte Franklin of Bruce,
Mississippi. They have celebrated 27
wonderful years of marriage and have four
loving children: Shalanda, Kelvin II, Christina,
and Makayla.
Raised in the
church by his father, a deacon, and his
mother, an usher, he learned to walk with
the Lord at an early age. By the
time he left home at the age of 17, he was
already serving as Sunday school
superintendent and adult Sunday school
teacher.
Ordained in
1984 by Bridges Chapel Baptist Church,
Pittsboro, Mississippi, Rev Franklin has
served as pastor of several churches:
-- Pastor &
Founder, Tinker Air Force Base (AFB)
Gospel Service, 1988-1993.
-- Pastor &
Founder, God's Power in Christian
Fellowship Church, Rhein Main Air Base,
Frankfurt Germany, 1995-1997.
-- Pastor, Genesis Christian Fellowship Church,
Hampton, VA, 2001-2004.
Active in many
facets of ministry, Elder K. Franklin has
served as deacon, musician, choir
director, as well as functioned in many committees
and auxiliaries.
Some of the
awards and achievements that the Lord has
blessed Rev Franklin to celebrate include:
- Certified as an
AF Auxiliary Chaplain with recognition by
the National Baptist Convention. U.S.A.,
1989
- Department of
the AF Chaplain Service certificate for
Exceptional Service, 1993
- Foodbank of the
Virginia Peninsula, 2002 J. B. Johnson
Volunteer Award (Volunteer of the year)
Elder Franklin
has achieved many, many
accomplishment but wants only to be known
by the fact that "he loves the Lord
and his people" and desires to
"worship and serve him in spirit and
truth with the utmost in honesty and integrity.
Elder Franklin
and his family have lived in Virginia
since 1997 and currently reside in
Williamsburg, VA. arrived in Hampton, VA in
1997 and are planning to live out the rest
of their life in this area serving the
Lord and building on the portion of God's
kingdom that is here. PRAISE YE THE
LORD!
